Funny little one

Yesterday I was driving home from Chuck E. Cheese and M said to me:

M: Mommy I need you to always be with me!

Me: Ok, but why?

M: Because sometimes Papa doesn't listen to me.

Me: Well, you can ask him to please listen.

M: No mommy I cant!

Me: Why not?

M: Because I'm his kid he doesn't have to listen to me, but he has to listen to you. Dad's always have to listen to there mom's and to their wives.

Me:(laughing quietly)Yup, your right they sure do...

Busy Busy Busy

I need to find a way to add things to my day. I know that taking into account that I take care of the girls and do everything in the house, adding more sounds a little crazy but the truth is I miss him (Dr.D).
Our life together has not been a piece of cake but everytime that "supposedly" it will start to get better turns out that schedule wise its a little harder.
When he was doing the residency the hospital was 10 minutes away from home but now that he started fellowship its about 1 hour away from home. That commute really makes a difference plus now when he is on call it comes in sets Saturday and Sunday so basically he leaves to work in the early am and comes home in the late pm and I am "on call" at home 19 days straight. (he had 2 calls in a roll this month). I hate to whine but its basically what im doing, right?
Ok let me try some positives to make me feel better and stop sounding like a whiner.
(I always tell L and M that wont get them anywhere)

We are healthy
We love eachother
L is coming home in 2 weeks
I get to stay home and take care of my girls
I just took all his "work shirts" to the dry cleaner (one less chore for me!)
I have great friends
We are blessed!
God is good!

You know typing those things really help....

Ok, off I go to plan something to do with M today....

Our trip to Baltimore

We had a great time in Baltimore. Dr.D really enjoyed the ID course and M and I had fun exploring Baltimore. We had a blast in the inner harbor and got in one of the Dragon Pedal Boats.

M loved staying in a hotel, the last time she was in a hotel she was really small so I don't think she remembered and boy was she excited. She couldn't believe there was a bathroom and as soon as she saw it (which was on Monday at 10pm when we arrived at the hotel) she begged us to take a shower, because she has never showered in a hotel, so we let her and she was overjoyed.

We ate in a Brazilian restaurant and it was amazing (Fogo de Chao), they had a Parmesan crusted pork that was really good I keep googling a recipe for it but I have yet to come across one that sounds similar to what I tasted.

We also tried to find the "best" Crab Cake in Baltimore and after asking around they directed us to G & M, unfortunately we weren't impressed and I actually didn't think it was good at all.

It was fun, but Thursday night when we arrived home it felt so good to be back!

The start of a new Era

So the fellowship started July 1 and Dr.D came home with his new schedule and responsibilities and all my hopes for more time were chattered into tiny pieces. It appears he will be busier than he was in Residency and when you factor in that he is commuting one hour each way... well you get the picture.

However I cant complain about this week because he has to go to Baltimore, MD for 4 days and I am tagging along with M. I wont get to be with him during the day, but he gets out at 4pm so we will have time in the late afternoons and I will get to spend the day with M, exploring whatever there is to do in Maryland!
