Exhausted Mommy, Happy Kids
For L's birthday yesterday we had a busy day. It all started in the morning, she woke up, took a bath, got dressed, ate breakfast and then Dr.D drove her to school (he got home from the night call just in time to drop her off at school, which she really enjoyed, especially since he surprised her with red roses). I got M and myself ready and when Dr.D returned home we all went to the grocery store to pick up cupcakes and juice boxes for L's class. We arrived at the school at 10:15 which is snack time and sang "Happy Birthday" to L with her class mates, she was really happy when she saw us and helped me pass out the cupcakes to all her friends, after that she came home with us. The next thing on our list was lunch at PF Chang's (her favorite restaurant, which is great because it happens to be my favorite too). Lunch was followed with taking her to the movies to see "Monsters versus Aliens". L and M really enjoyed the movie, they didn't stop talking about it all day, I thought it really was a cute movie, with a nice message. We went home after the movie and had some quiet time (that mommy really needed). At 4:00pm we headed to Chuck E. Cheese for a birthday party with 8 of her friends, she had a blast. By the time we got home I had the worst headache ever and I was completely exhausted, surprisingly (well maybe not that surprising) L and M were still running on full batteries. L opened up her presents and shared nicely with M (she is really a great big sister). Dr.D left to work at 7:30pm after having a very large cup of espresso and I put the girls to bed. It was an absolutely exhausting day but totally worth it.
